CSA: Week 3

This weeks CSA pick up was a little light owing to some pretty nasty weather that we have had here in the past week.  It has whip sawed in temperature from 60 to almost 90 and the moisture has gone from dry to heavy rainfall.  Sometimes all of that in a day it seems.

Regardless, the good folks at Supernatural Organics had mint, sugar snap peas, radishes, green onions, and a few spears of asparagus for the week.  The radishes, sugar snap peas, asparagus, and a few of the green onions were sauteed in some olive oil, garlic, and salt for a quick dinner on Monday.  I am looking forward to the bounty that comes in the height of summer.  I am not so keen on trying to find creative ways to deal with the deluge of squash and zucchini that I know is coming as well.

The mint is always a welcome herb because it is a chance to do something different in the kitchen.  If I could just figure out a way to make some kind of mint infusion for a homemade mint mocha.
